Information for WI's

Membership Support team updated on 20th November 2020.

Annual meetings to be held in 2020, these meetings have to be held before the 31st December 2020.

If you are unable to hold your meeting a letter explaining the reason why needs to be sent to Federation - this to be there by January 2021, so that the Charity Commission can be updated of our status.

There will be no refunds of the 2020 subscription.

Newsletters are now sent out as an email to secretaries to forward to members, making it easier to get to all members.

Any events that have been cancelled this year, will be rearranged fir 2021, once we are able to meet up again.

You all have shown great resolve over the last 11months with sending out your own newsletter and finding different ways to keep in touch with your members, and a big thank you from the Membership Support team.

Gift Aid

Your Secretaries will have received a lot of information on Gift Aid from NFWI. Does your WI do Gift Aid? If it does you will have to go back to your members with all the new information and ask them if they still want to do it as it is significantly different and not so beneficial for individual Wis. Members need to know if they are Income Tax payers and if they already Gift Aid to other organisations ie. National Trust, Royal British Legion etc before completing the New Gift Aid Declaration.

Please use this link for further guidance

The gift aid form can be downloaded here

YouTube Channel Creation

YouTube is an online facility that is being used by some WI's and members to share knowledge in "How To's" eg Crafts Video etc. Spa Sweethearts WI  have created some notes on "how to" create your own Youtube Channel or a one for your WI.

The notes for a personal channel are as follows and for a one for use by a WI are available at this download link.

Follow these instructions to create a channel that only you can manage using your Google Account.

1.   Sign in to YouTube on a computer or using the mobile site.

2.    Try any action that requires a channel, such as uploading a video, posting a comment or creating a playlist.

3.    If you don't yet have a channel, you'll see a prompt to create a channel.

4.    Check the details (with your Google Account name and photo) and confirm to create your new channel.

No question is a stupid question, if we don’t know the answer we will do all we can to find the answer for you.

These are very trying times but I’m sure we will all come out of this nightmare, wiser and proud of how we all pulled together.
